I understand your point of view. You are right. But then again, so is the person who believes that manifestation is real. Like you said : "This shit doesn’t actually work, so let’s have some fun..." You've already starved it of the energy to manifest. Life goes beyond believing in something. Believe lives room for doubt. But certainty is knowing that the sun will rise tomorrow. We answer our own prayers, depending on the energy of our certainty. If we leave it to chance it's a 50/50. But, if we're sure, first it seems it's never happening, but then you're certain, and you're not worried, so it happens. Manifestation is bullshit. Manifestation is real. It all depends on the human conviction.
I stopped reading at this sentence: "This blonde, blue-eyed, size 2, Hitler’s favorite bitch—of course it worked out for her." This is one of the most offensive sentences I've read in a long time... and in this day and age, that says a lot.
I'm surprised that some pre-publication set of eyes didn't catch that, it's problematic on several levels in what is meant to be a light-hearted and humorous piece (?).
I will say this: the patriarchy and a few other destructive elements love to see women divided against each other by color, age, class, WEIGHT and many other insane criteria, competing among ourselves for male favor. Don't fall for it.
There's a part of me that clicked to read this because I never fully believed in manifesting, but I also know I don't go about it with the right "energy" and by reading this post I felt like you feel it too. As much as I see that you don't have scarcity mindset about certain parts of your life, when it comes to things youre not exactly in control of, you seem to trust that good things couldnt possibly just happen to you, and that may be why it didn't work how you thought it was supossed to. The other part of me, contemplates the fact that we are here randomly and we're so complex, that there are many timelines and endless possibilities, so, anything is possible. Theres another me that has something I want, but probably doesn't have something I already have, does that make sense? This isn't exactly a critque I'm just speaking my mind. I'm conflicted by the two ideas of what the result of manifestation really is. Maybe it's different for everyone, and maybe it's so different because people put so many rules, even tho sometimes it's like they don't explain enough which leads to us reducing a science based concept to this so called "magic". Also I think its 100% fair to mention the fact that people that are deemed attractive by society get what they want more easily because that's just a fact, on the other hand I also feel like we get more attractive by thinking that we are and by being the who we want to be, because everyone is susceptible to rejection in life. The limits we face are societal, but in our core, we are all on the same level.
I think I see your thought process but hey, if my writing got you thinking, I'll take it as a success ;)
You make good points and there are of course many facets on how things go one way or another. This was just one example and a series of events that coincided or did it? I wrote it and some took to it, some didn't

Thank you both for your comments. We appreciate the feedback and have changed the line in question.
