It's great that you still have it and that the unpleasantness around the whole meeting with Mr G didn't ruin it entirely. In many respects, I think the desk chose you and even made you fight for it a little. Maybe this is the year that you can look at the desk as a fellow survivor and one that owes you its freedom and happiness. Maybe that will lessen the discomfort that occasionally visits.
