This was beautiful. He was your friend and you have a right to grieve losing him.

Very sad and compelling. I can’t imagine having a personal friend that was lost to 9/11 events, or losing the best friend I ever had. We can’t begin to understand how you felt back then, but I hope things have gotten better in your life.

Oh my gosh. This is a 9/11 story I've never heard before. Thanks so much for your vulnerability.

What broke my heart was the loss of the unnamed best friend. The damage we do that sometimes just cannot be mended. The hurt and anger we can hang on to that keeps us cut off from people, fallible people, who love us. I'm so sorry that loss, for both of you.

I was a sophomore in high school when that happened. 9/11 is not a day that I’ll ever forget, either and I love hearing stories related to that. Thank you for so courageously sharing this ! ❤️
