Brutal! I love the final sentiment from a mature voice. What really matters... Plum Johnson wrote a memoir titled "They Left Us Everything" about having to clear out her parents' house. Once we reach a certain age, we kinda need to consider what we leave behind... just another stage in this life of memories and things.

So true. When my grandma died, I inherited boxes and boxes of her photos, and I had every intention of sorting them and putting them in albums. Five years later, the boxes are still sitting in my closet, untouched. It's true that when we leave this earth, even our most treasured possessions can become something our loved ones have to "deal with."
