Thank you for sharing this, so profound and how we connect our lives with an object. I never had an engagement ring, but loved my platinum and gold wedding band with with tiny diamonds. I sold it - used the money to pay for boiler to be serviced 😁 needs must!
It was important to me until it wasn't. We don't realize the symbols we carry until they don't mean anything anymore. Sorry you had to sell your ring, but I get it!

I agree. My body knew before my mind was ready to accept that it was over. Losing the ring definitely sealed the deal for me.
